            Representative Larry Dolhof talked about the taxes on Wind Farms regarding the substation which maybe turned over to National Grid.  Still working on share services and they need new ideas for next year.  C &S company installing equipment on fire towers for emergency and police which will be installed by winter.   Mohawk Networks, LLC will cover our area with Business fee $80.00/month and residents $45.00/month.  IDA Dairy – boost milk production.  CFA – applications for grants – infrastructure projects.

 

            Mr. Howard Beyer from the American Legion came to the meeting to thank The Town of Pinckney for the donation to help provide flags for the cemeteries’.

 

The June 21, 2017 regular board meeting started at 6:40pm when all parties rose to say the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Kay Chapman of the Tug Hill Commission gave a report on local official roads in the Tug Hill Region.  The adoption of official road maps project started several years ago to accurately map town roads, and assist communities in adopting an official roadmap.  Through the use of GPS and GIS the commission has been able to help 28 towns in the region achieve the adoption of their official roads. With over 1200 miles of roads officially adopted, the commission is continuing to help other towns go through the process.  Official road data can be viewed in the Tug Hill Commission public map portal (www.tughill.giscloud.com), or alter-natively viewed by navigating to the Mapping Applications dropdown, and the clicking on Local Official Roads.

 

The Clerks Report for May was presented.  Total disbursed - $23,462.13 (NYS Agriculture and Markets $4.00, Town of Pinckney $6,827.76, Lewis County Treasurer $16,630.37).  A report on taxes collected from January to the end of May.  The remaining taxes unpaid was turned over to Lewis County Treasurer’s Office for payment. The Warrant approved and all books balanced.  A motion was made by Sherry Harmych to accept the Clerks Report and seconded by Sandi Dunn.

 

The Financial Report for May was submitted by Sherry Harmych, Supervisor and given to all board members to review.  A motion was made by Sandi Dunn to accept the Financial Report and seconded by Bob Amidon.

The justice Report was presented.  A motion to accept the Justice Report was made by Sandi Dunn to accept the Justice Report and seconded by Dan Pearson.

 

Planning Board – No meeting this month.

 

The minutes of the prior meeting (May 9, 2017) were copied and passed around to all Board Members who were given a chance to review.  A motion to dispense with reading the minutes was made by Bob Amidon and seconded by Sandi Dunn.  There were no corrections or additions to the minutes.  A motion to accept the minutes was made by Bob Amidon and seconded by Sandi Dunn.

 

Highway Report was presented by Don Cook, Superintendent.

-Pinckney Road and 7/10 mile of River Road has hard surface

-Allen Bray on as full time employee at $14.00/hour (went thru 60 day probation)

- Several flat tires this month, (very expensive)  pickup and trucks. All were snowmobile                studs.

-Vouchers are including most of June

-Pickup truck has rotten and cracked frame on both sides behind front wheels.  Will not

 pass inspection or mount plow on

-Will turn in Pave NY and “Extreme Weather” funding forms as soon as cancelled checks

 come back. Should be around $36,000 in additional monies.

            -Rebuilding Waterman Road.

            -Awaiting payment on three culverts from new installations (about $900.00).

            -Done hauling material to the hill.

            -Helping Denmark and Harrisburg on road projects.

 

New Business –

 

Taxing jurisdiction update – Next meeting will be July 21, 2017 @9:00am.

 

Had some complaints about no garbage on Wednesday night.  Getting estimates on new pickup truck – State Bid List and Virkler.  There are several more properties that should be check on to see if building permits were issued for new construction or additions.  When building or new additions, etc. to properties, it is important to get a Permit.  Please see our Zoning and Planning Board  permit laws.

 

Old Business –

 

Still have Planning Board position, Zoning Board position, Dog Control Officer, and BAR member openings.  Letters sent to two property owners were sent and one has been cleaned up and the other one is being handled. Received letter from Ken Blankenbush, local Member of Assembly 117th District, regarding the minimum maintenance road legislation, is fully in support of the passage of this important legislation.  He has urged his colleagues in the Assembly Transportation Committee to allow this legislation to be voted on by the Assembly to the conclusion of session this month.    Emily Booth’s trees have been planted. 

 

Vouchers were passed around the table and all were approved and signed by the Board.  Sandi Dunn made a motion to accept the vouchers and seconded by Dan Pearson.

 

A  motion was made by Bob Amidon to adjourn the meeting at 7:35pm and seconded by Dan Pearson.
