The meeting was called to order at 7:03 p.m. In attendance were Sherry Harmych, John Tessier, Robert

Amidon, Donald Vincent, Edward Barker, Michael Clemons, and Susan Townsend. Also attending were

William Smith, Richard Smith, Kevin Hertel, Kay Chapman, Brandy Lucas, Daniel Pearson, and Richard

Lucas.

 

Bill Smith, who lives on the 7 x 9 Rd., spoke about the condition of the road and about his concerns that

the trash barn is not open enough during the week. It was explained to him that the road is a county road

that the town does not maintain. The board also feels that the hours the trash barn is open is sufficient and

allows access for the majority of town residents.

 

Dan Pearson spoke about the county comprehensive meeting he attended. It is his understanding that the

towns must have county approval of their comprehensive plans. Sherry will set up a meeting with the

Planning Board to work on our plan.

 

Brandy Lucas, Playground Group Chairman, spoke about their plans for Old Home Days which will be

held on August 22. They will be selling calendars again this year.

 

Supervisor's report for May was accepted by motion from Bob that was seconded by Don.

 

Clerk's reports for May and June were accepted by motion from Don, second by Bob.

 

Reading of the minutes was dispensed with by motion from Don, seconded by Bob.

 

Highway concerns were next. Mike reported that Town of Harrisburg dug out the ditches on the River

Rd. where the town is rebuilding the road. The job is 90010 done. Everything is going well. The mower will

be in our town next week to mow the roadsides.

 

Resolution #54 to allow for a budgetary transfer was presented. Ed made motion and Don seconded the

motion. All board voted yes and resolution passed.

 

Under old business the new RV law was discussed. Our law is different from the county's. Sherry will set

up a meeting with Phil Street and the THC in regards to the law.

 

The board again discussed setting up a town website. Two company's (zehr.net and digitaltowpath.net)

were discussed. Dan has checked out digitaltowpath. It would cost $600.00 per year. Sherry will check

more into both companies.

 

Under new business it was announced that Clifford Cook is no long our dog control officer. Lewis

County Humane Society will continue to house stray dogs. AJso, the board has been invited to attend the L

C Supervisors Association meeting on July 30.

 

We received a letter from the county, that we can reject within 30 days) regarding the county being lead

agency for the SEQUR process for the Lewis County Comprehensive Plan.

 

Rick Lucas entered the meeting at 7:54 p.m. He spoke to the board about the Hazard Mitigation Plan for

the county. A federal grant from FEMA can be had for assessing possible emergencies. Towns can be

involved in the plan. Sherry and Don will attend the' meetings. Rick told the board that the county

comprehensive plan will be finished in October. Bill Smith then spoke to Rick about his road and Rick

informed him that the county plans working on the road in the spring.

 

Vouchers in the amounts of$ 4,832.71(Gen) and $14,761.40(High) were presented and signed. Bob

motioned to accept the vouchers and Ed seconded the motion.

 

Don motioned to adjourn, Bob seconded and the meeting closed at 8:14p.m.
